On the run (with a camera...)

Very busy week here at Digital HQ. For the past several days, I've been editing a large event and promo video for Westminster College in Fulton that I shot in March. Two more event videos are on the docket for this week at Christian Chapel Academy and Humpty Dumpty Preschool, both here in Columbia. Finally, amongst all of these ongoing projects, I'm still managing to sneak a bit of time in to work on my first full-length documentary film that I'm producing/directing. Stay tuned...

Bleu Restaurant Promo

These shots were taken during a shoot last week at the newly relocated Bleu Restaurant and Wine Bar here in Columbia, MO. Beautiful spring day and the place looks great!

MFA Oil Promo

Headed to Pilot Grove, MO last week to shoot footage for an MFA Oil promo. They were planting crops for their new Biomass fuel and wanted some of the action captured on video. So I headed out to the middle of the field, armed with my camera, and started rolling. Beautiful day, but the winds were something else. Here's a couple stills I pulled from the video.

Tiger Express Promo

Headed to south Columbia this afternoon for a video shoot at Tiger Express Car Wash. This is another promo I'm shooting for Media Outlook and the PumpTop Network. What a beautiful day! So hard to believe it's February 1st in Missouri!

Old Standard Wood Web Promo

I'm very excited about this latest web promo produced for Old Standard Wood of Fulton, MO. We did a relatively lengthy shoot over several days time throughout last year, and numerous videos are going to come out of the footage. This is the first finished promo from the shoot and features some exciting camerawork that I'm really proud of. As you watch the promo, notice the "floating camera" effect that is utilized in many of the shots. To achieve this look, we utilized the large Caterpillar Telehandler that you see moving logs in the video. The machine has very sophisticated hydraulics and a boom arm that extends up to 30 feet in the air! Needless to say, I was perched on the end of the arm, way up in the air, camera rolling, and loving every minute of it! I'm very proud of how this promo came out, and look for several other videos from the same session in the coming weeks.

Ending 2011 tonight with a video shoot at Columbia, MO's own Whiskey Wild Saloon. 2000 people and a mechanical bull? Sounds like an interesting shoot to me...
